Mariner Bank Tower Celebrates Grand Opening! |
Baltimore,
MD (September 2006) On Saturday, September
9th, Edwin F. Hale Sr., president and
CEO of Hale Properties and chairman and CEO of 1st
Mariner Bank, opened up First Mariner Bank’s
new headquarters building to the public with live
music and fireworks. The Grand Opening Celebration
marked the completion and occupancy of the seventeen-story
office tower that has become Baltimore’s
anchoring project in the city’s eastside
renaissance.
“The fruits of more than four years
of hard work are clearly visible in this
building,” Mr. Hale said. “We
should all be proud of what we have accomplished.
This is just the first step in transforming
Canton into a vibrant, thriving hub with
retail, commercial office space and housing
on Baltimore’s Eastside. We have reclaimed
land that some called industrial wasteland.
Now, corporations, families and young singles
are connecting with Canton and moving and
working here. The tower has become a beacon
that people can see from across the city.
To me it is a symbol of Baltimore’s
progress and potential.”
The 477,910-square-foot building offers
stunning views of Baltimore, the Harbor
and Chesapeake Bay. The new headquarters
building will also house, Carefirst, Thomson
Prometric, About Faces Day Spa and Salon,
and Della Rose’s Tavern. New tenants
enjoy free parking, restaurants and shops
within walking distance and easy access
to Interstate 95. It is one of the largest,
most visible buildings erected in Baltimore
in years.
GableSigns, Inc. was proud to participate
in the construction project as well. From
the building’s inception, the Maryland-based
company worked with the building’s
designer Arium
Architects and owner to create a sign
that would uniquely identify the buildings
main tenant. Four fabricated aluminum compass
medallions were constructed, and finished
with 23kt gold leaf. Each elevation also
included a set of illuminated letters reading ”First
Mariner Bank”. The signs and logo
were installed on the peaks of each roof,
and illuminated with LED lighting. The sign
can be seen from miles away, from vehicular
traffic on Interstate 95 or the city’s
water traffic entering or exiting the Port
of Baltimore.

| Chesapeake’s
Newest Beachfront Resort & Spa |
| |
Chesapeake Beach, MD (July 2006) Maryland’s
newest resort, Chesapeake
Beach Resort & Spa is located in historic
Southern Maryland on the Western shore of the Chesapeake
Bay. Whether a visitor to the area or a local resident,
one will find plenty to do and see, as this resort
offers a full spectrum of amenities for all: families,
couples, sportsmen, or just a nice place to relax!
Truly one of the areas finest destinations; it is
situated directly on the waterfront, and offers
a luxury hotel, three waterfront restaurants, a
marina, a full service salon and so much more. The
dream of this vacation destination was that of two
brothers, Fred and Gerald Donovan. Together they
succeeded in March 2004 and erected the first hotel
on the bay.
To identify the many entertainment, lodging, dining and retail opportunities
on the site, the Donavan’s called upon GableSigns, to develop,
manufacture and install a comprehensive sign system to maximize the
many branding opportunities offered with each venue. Working with Mitchell
and Company Graphic Design (Gaithersburg, MD) the companies provided
a complete system ranging from identification signs, to way finding
signage, and various informational kiosks placed around the site, helping
to showcase the rich tradition of this Chesapeake resort town.

Mclean, VA (June 2006) With over 23,000
professionals in 85 cities around the country, PricewaterhouseCoopers is
well placed to meet the many challenges and
opportunities in the US marketplace. When Lerner
Enterprises signed PricewaterhouseCoopers
as the lead tenant for 1800 Tysons Boulevard,
the new tenant’s primary goal was met:
to gain a total of 209,000 sq ft.of premium
quality office space at a high profile location
in Fairfax
County, Virginia. Perched high up on the thirteenth
story, the company’s logo and name has
become the landmark signature for the building.
GableSigns, Inc., a Maryland-based provider
in the custom sign industry, took on the task
to manufacture and install the brightly illuminated
sign on the parapet wall high above the top
floor. Although the installation was challenging,
the job went smoothly due to the utilization
of a helicopter lifting the two 8’x 60ft
sections on two sides of the building.
“We are excited about welcoming this
fine organization (PWC) to Tysons II and remain
committed to continuing to build to this level
of quality at Tysons II. The Corporate Office

| Signs
of the Times Magazine Reaches Centennial Milestone |
Cincinnati,
OH (March 17, 2006) — ST
Media Group International, Inc. announces
the 100th anniversary of its flagship publication, Signs
of the Times magazine. An official celebration
is slated for April 5-8 in Orlando, FL, during
the International Sign Association event. A commemorative
edition will be offered in June 2006. The special
issue will feature a 48-page timeline history,
complimented by one- and two-page stories of historical
highlights.
Companies from all over the US were
supportive of this special issue as well,
purchasing congratulatory advertising
while at the same time, becoming a part
of this sign industry timepiece. One of
the industry advertisers, GableSigns,
Inc. Of Baltimore, Maryland offered its
support and placed a full page add stating
how the magazine has helped the company
grow over their 25+ years in business.
First published in May 1906 by former Billboard Magazine, Signs of
the Times is as much a fixture of Americana as the signage it features.
Initially distributed to 4,650 subscribers in 42 American cities,
the Cincinnati-based publication set out to educate and inform a community
of signmakers about the artistic, technical and business sides of
the industry. Today, 18,200 subscribers in 112 countries eagerly anticipate
the magazine.
In an inadvertent yet fortuitous way,
Signs of the Times has chronicled the
nation's growth via its pictorial history.
At the turn of the century, as immigration
exploded, Signs of the Times documented
the burgeoning signage. During the industrial
revolution, Signs of the Times celebrated
the new electric signs. Signs of the Times
weathered the Great Depression, and advertising
was bolstered by advancements in signage,
including neon lighting, fluorescent tubing
and plastics. During World War II, amid
the governmental material restrictions,
the signage industry survived, and Signs
of the Times highlighted the signs that
reflected the spirit of America.
To this day, the magazine continues
its trend of tracking the industry's progress
and pioneering new market surveys and
sign graphics competitions. In addition,
ST Media Group International has ensured
that the sign industry's past will thrive
for decades to come. ST Media Group has
donated more than $1 million over five
years to the American
Sign Museum, the first sign museum
in the U.S.
Current company president Tedd Swormstedt
(son of Jerry) summarizes the company's
accomplishments, "You can't truly
appreciate all that we've accomplished
until you hear a reader say. 'I have every
issue of Signs of the Times dating back
to the 1950s.' Our corporate goal is to
generate that type of loyalty from each
reader, online visitor and event attendee
by making it our priority to inform, educate
and grow the industries that we serve."

Completes 'Last Call' for Neiman Marcus |
 |
Hanover, MD (March 2006) Eight
years ago, Neiman Marcus opened its first outlet
store in Austin, Texas. This week, the high-end
retailer opened its “Last Call” Clearance Center
in Arundel
Mills Outlet Center in Hanover, Maryland. The
store is one of sixteen for the Dallas-based retailer,
and the first in Maryland. Like other companies
with outlets, Neiman Marcus saw it as a way to get
rid of excess inventory without selling
it to third parties who then sell it again at a
profit. "It's a good way to move merchandise and
keep the brand in front of people," said Mark Millman
of Millman Search Group, an executive search firm
and retail consultancy in Owings Mills. Neiman found
the Arundel Mills location attractive because of
its strong customer base, the success of its nearby
full-line stores at Tysons Corner in Northern Virginia,
and the Mazza Gallerie in Washington. The
Last Call is located besides Off 5th Saks
Fifth Avenue Outlet, another popular upscale clothing
store at the five-year-old outlet mall.
To brand the new location for the thousands of daily visitors to Arundel
Mills, The Mills Corporation introduced
GableSigns to Neiman Marcus and hired the Maryland company to construct
signage for the exterior and interior entrances to the store. The letters
are constructed of welded aluminum with reverse channel illumination
for a “hallow” effect. The logo is fabricated using aluminum extrusions
and the “Cooley Brite” flexible face system.

Celebrates 25th Anniversary |
 |
Guests
gather around the GableSigns exhibit which
showcased 25 Years of progress in the sign
industry. |
Baltimore, MD (December 2005) – On the evening
of December 15th GableSigns, Inc. hosted it’s
25th anniversary celebration at the Baltimore Museum
of Industry, utilizing the museum’s rich
collection of commercial and industrial artifacts
as the company’s backdrop to celebrate it’s
25 years in the sign business. With well over 300
of the company’s staff members, clients and
associates in attendance, the event gave everyone
an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful museum, some
very delicious food, live entertainment and holiday
cheer. Owners Paul and Matt Gable addressed their
guests, and thanked them for all of their contributions
in helping GableSigns grow over the years.
The
highlight of the evening was the sign
lighting ceremony in which Baltimore’s
newest landmark sign was unveiled, a
112 ft. wide neon sign presented to
the Baltimore Museum of Industry as
a gift to commemorate the museum’s
own 25th year as a non-profit educational
institution. Overlooking the Inner Harbor
South, the sign can be viewed from many
vantage points around the waterfront
and is reminiscent of the numerous rooftop
signs that existed across Baltimore’s
skyline many years ago.
This “community” sign project
was initiated and organized by GableSigns,
who promptly found ten companies that
were also interested in joining them
in making the museum more visible to
the many residents and visitors in the
area. The companies who contributed
their products and services to this
project were: Baltimore Steel Erectors,
Martin Sign Supply, David Ashton & Associates,
Blake Structural, Pioneer Supply, N.Glantz
and Sons, Voltarc Technologies, Alliance
Metals, Leonard Jed Company, and United
Rentals.
GableSigns, Inc. began as a home-based
operation in 1980, in which the company
served local businesses a variety of
hand lettered signs and graphics. In
1985, the growing enterprise moved “out
of the house” into a commercial
operation and began expanding its services
into the custom electrical and architectural
signage market. Following the growth
of the company’s clientele and
projects they work on, GableSigns further
expanded its workforce, equipment and
facilities and moved into a larger facility
in 1999. Today, the company employs
over 150 sign professionals and craftsmen,
and provide it’s products and
services to it’s clientele on
a local, regional and national basis.
Paul Gable, the company’s founder and president stated, “With
25 years of experience now behind us, we are positioned better than
ever before to grow and serve our clients, and are looking forward
to a bright future ahead for us!”

industry from the United States
Sign Council (USSC). This year at the Sign
World show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, GableSigns
was the recipient of two awards in the categories

The
Big Fish Grille received honors for its
attractive illuminated sign work in the Neon
Signs category. This eye catching sign project
consisted of a freestanding sign of a “larger

blue neon . Additionally, the restaurant exterior
includes a rolling blue neon wave to enhance
the relationship between the building facade
and freestanding sign.
For
the Internally Illuminated Freestanding
Signs category, the Pier
5 Hotel project was awarded for
its main exterior pylon sign. This sign
and it’s elliptical profile was
fabricated of aluminum and is internally
illuminated to give a special effect
to compliment the custom neon work on
the sign’s exterior.
The USSC represents
the interests of over 30,000 members of the sign
industry in the United States through programs
and resources involving education, advocacy and
scientific research. Because the sign industry
is subject to governmental land-use regulations,
the USSC is an active participant in issues such
as sign legislation, zoning, and land-use planning.
Since it's founding in 1972 as the Eastern States
Signs Council, the USSC has been dedicated to
providing an educational resource for the sign

Baltimore,
MD (October 2005) In the growing
suburbs of Baltimore, consumers have always had
a great number of choices for a convenient shopping
experience. However, none of the shopping centers
in this area have been around longer than Eastpoint

Of Miami To Shine With New Sign Program |
City
of Miami, FL(September 2005) With
visitors arriving daily to the sunshine state, the City
of Miami has been accommodating tourists for
many decades. A few years ago, City Government
Officials realized the importance of establishing
a wayfinding program designed to direct pedestrians
and also play an integral part of the branding of
the City. In April of 2003 the Mayor and the
City Commission executed an agreement of professional
services with the firm of Hillier
Architecture, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA. Hillier
was contracted for planning, design and construction
administration services for this project. In
June of 2003, a notice to proceed was issued to
the firm. The planning stage of this project consisted
of two major efforts,establishing a functional“wayfinding” system
that would direct visitors, and reimaging the City
with a modern design concept for the new signage.
After much thought and many meetings with City Officials,
a complete menu of sign types and engineered
drawings were provided. GableSigns, Inc. of Maryland
was recently awarded the contract to manufacture
and install the new sign package. The project
consists of approximately 975 signs including
two welcoming monument signs that will assist in
the direction of both pedestrian and street traffic. The
completion for the project is scheduled for early
2006.

Beach Hilton Unveils Multi-Venue Dining Experience |
Virginia
Beach, VA (July 2005) Freshly opened
in 2005, the new Hilton
Virginia Beach Oceanfront has been described
as the grandest hotel ever built in Virginia
Beach. At 295-rooms soaring to twenty-one
stories, this hotel is easily the crown jewel
and centerpiece of this new upscale section
of this Mid-Atlantic resort. Flanked by a
unique oceanfront park with entertainment
venues and many fashionable shops,
the hotel also offers a multiple venue dining
experience for guests and discriminating locals.
Offering three unique dining experiences created a design challenge
for Cooper
Carry Environmental Graphics (Atlanta, GA), the project
design firm, to properly identify and promote the different
venues with appropriate signage. GableSigns, Inc., a Maryland-based
sign manufacturing firm, worked with the designers to develop
their ideas into a finished project. For "Catch 31",
overlooking the boardwalk and Neptune Park, GableSigns fabricated
a larger-than-life replica of a fish lure, internally illuminated
with individual plate letters. To compliment the pedestrian
walkway, an illuminated monument sign featuring a waterfall
and glass block
with a rainbow of multi-colored led lighting was constructed
on the site. For the folks who enjoy a casual but elegant dining
experience, "Salacia" offers only the finest seafood
and steaks. To promote this image, GableSigns fabricated a detailed
wall-mounted sign with prismatic halo letters illuminated with
Color Kinetics intelligent lighting. The "Sky Bar" is
located on the 21st floor, offering
its guests a breath taking view of the Atlantic Ocean. To welcome
visitors to this spectacular setting, GableSigns fabricated
a small, but very custom entry marker, made with dimensionally
cast acrylic and rolled aluminum plate with a brushed finish.

Falls Unveils New Way Finding System |
Cuyahoga
Falls, OH (June 2005) Just in
time to kick off their summer concerts on
the square, the central district of Cuyahoga
Falls received a new look this week. Their
new way finding signage program has been installed
to appropriately guide people and cars to
the many shops, restaurants, parking decks
and the Civic Center. "The signs are more
than directional, they are a quality form
of art that reflect the positive direction
the downtown area is conveying," stated Mayor
Don Robart. Many efforts went into the planning
of the signs, as they were designed by Bizzell,
Inc. of Davidson, NC , who spent several days
in the city to understand both the pedestrian
and vehicular flow of traffic throughout the
district. A Maryland-based sign manufacturer,
GableSigns, Inc, fabricated and installed
the signs, and received rave reviews from
Susan Truby, the Director of Community Development
for Cuyahoga Falls ..."The workmanship on
the nineteen signs for our downtown district
was remarkable. We have received many positive
comments on the design, materials and finished
product. It is obvious that your company is
dedicated to providing the best product possible," Truby
stated in a letter to GableSigns upon their
completion of the project.

| 1st Mariner
Bank to Shine on Canton Crossing |
Baltimore, MD (May 2005) When Baltimore
banker and developer Edwin F. Hale broke ground
in December on his 17-story office building
project, named "Canton
Crossing Office Tower", he already knew
of the spectacular views that it's occupants
would take pleasure in when they occupy the
new building. As Chairman of 1st Mariner Bank,
the company's current headquarters building
has been located next to the site enjoying a
similar view across the Patapsco River in which
one can easily view Fort Mchenry and many of
the harbor's other landmarks.
The new office tower will become the signature
building for the mixed-use site, which encompasses
over 53 acres, located on the corner of Clinton
and Boston Streets. Future plans call for a
marina and 504 upscale condos. The Canton Crossing
project is one of the most significant projects
to be developed in Baltimore since the Inner
Harbor Development, created by the Rouse Company,
and will contain over $150 million in development
to the area. Once completed, this site will
be a vital link to business and recreational
needs of the City of Baltimore.
With
construction well underway, the 330-ft. tower
plans call for 510,000 sq .ft. of space,
which will become partially occupied by 1st
Mariner Bank and become their new corporate
headquarters. The bank plans to make their presence
known on the Boston Street corridor and harbor,
as they have recently contracted with GableSigns,
Inc. to design, manufacture, and install illuminated
signage on all four peaks of the tower. Along
with the letters reading "1st Mariner Bank" each
sign will also include a 24 ft. diameter compass
medallion, which is the company's trademark.
The medallions will be constructed of aluminum,
and finished with 23kt gold leaf for a brilliant
daytime appearance. At night, the letters and
logo will shine brightly as well, utilizing
LED and fiber-optic lighting. "By air, land
or sea, night or day- this building will be
seen by all," commented Tim Wiegard of GableSigns,
who worked very closely with the owner, architect
and engineer to insure the company's logo would
be integrated successfully into the building's
design.
The design team on this project consists of Arium
Architects, WBCM (Architects
and Engineers), Gipe
Associates (Mechanical and Electrical
Engineers), and Ross Infrastructure, who are
providing master planning for the site infrastructure.
The Trammell
Crow Company is the leasing resource for
this initial office tower, Gilbane
Building is the Construction Manager,
and Hale
Properties is the developer.

| GableSigns Completes Project for U.S. Cellular Field |
Chicago,
IL (April 2005) For 93 Years, the Chicago
White Sox have played their home games
at Comiskey Park. In 1991, the White Sox relocated
to their newly constructed home across the street,
replacing their old stadium and home from 1910
through 1990. In early 2003, the team announced
a major league name change for the ballpark, with
a corporate ring to it. It became U.S. Cellular
Field in a 23-year naming rights deal that the wireless
provider will pay the White Sox $68 million over
20 years.
GableSigns, Inc. is pleased to announce our recent
completion of a custom sign project at U.S. Cellular
field, a multi-sign project designed by HKS of Dallas,
Texas to complement the improvements resulting from
the naming rights deal announced in early 2003.
The work was completed prior to opening day 2005,
and consisted of various interpretive displays,
life-size "silhouettes" of ball players, instructional
and other miscellaneous signs to enhance the area.
The White Sox say the major difference from most
stadium sponsorship deals is that the revenue from
the naming rights has been used to enhance the enjoyment
of the game for the fan. For the 2005 season, one
of those changes has been the addition of the "Scout" seating
areas-located directly behind home plate and featuring
behind the scenes views, pre game and post game
access to premium club dining, and special parking
next to the ball park.
In addition to the Scout seating area, the White
Sox and the Illinois Sporting Authority announced
the opening of the FUNdamentals baseball and softball
skills instruction area for kids, located above
the left field concourse. The area will open when
the gates to the ballpark open (typically 90 minutes
before game time) and will remain open during the
game beginning this season. It is accessible from
all areas of the ballpark.

Awarded Wayfinding project in Nation's Capitol |
|
Washington,
DC ( November 2004) In
2001, The DC Council placed money into the Office
of Tourism's fiscal year budget to develop a plan
for a comprehensive visitor signage and wayfinding
system for the city. The Office of Tourism subsequently

shield-shaped secondary signs on the east
and west ends of the stadium.
“Our goal was to make this the right
signage for this stadium, aesthetically
and architecturally,” said William
Mabee, Senior Vice President of Marketing
at M&T Bank. “We worked closely
with the Ravens, HOK - the stadium’s
architects and the Maryland Stadium Authority
to design signs that do justice to this
impressive building and reflect the spirit
of both the Ravens and M&T Bank.”
The two shield-shaped secondary signs are
20 by 17 feet and made of aluminum. A photo
opportunity of the first of these signs
being installed will take place at the west
side (facing Russell Street) of M&T
Bank Stadium at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August
6.
Beginning in mid-September, the north-facing
primary sign, 130 by 29 feet in size, will
be installed. (There will be a photo opportunity
of that sign being installed on a date to
be announced.) An identical south-facing
primary sign will then be installed, completing
the signage project.
"The signage is a result of the exceptional
team work between the Ravens, M&T Bank,
HOK and the Stadium Authority,” said
Dennis Mannion, Vice President of Marketing
for the Ravens. “And we’re very
pleased that for the first time, our logo
will be part of the stadium signage. "
A local sign manufacturer, Gablesigns,
Inc. in Baltimore, was chosen to build and
install the signs. Baltimore Steel Erectors,
Inc. is building the steel support structures
for the signs, and Enterprise Electric Company
in Baltimore is doing the wiring for the
signs.
“I think the signs fit well with
the architecture and the size of the stadium,” said
Rick Slosson, executive director of the
Stadium Authority. “The signs don’t
overwhelm the stadium and they represent
both organizations, M&T Bank and the
Ravens, very nicely.”

World Headquarters Gets a Little Crabby! |
Baltimore, MD (December 2002) — When
the Phillips family opened their first crab
processing plant on Hooper's Island around
1916, no one at the A.E. Phillips and Sons
Crab Processing Plant could have ever envisioned
that the company would grow to be a world-wide
provider of fresh crab meat and other
prepared seafood products. Today, the company's
vast operations include multiple seafood
processing plants around the world, a line
of retail products and six restaurants in
the Mid-Atlantic region.
Most recently, they have moved into their
new world headquarters and manufacturing
building in the Locust Point area of Baltimore.
The 9.4 acre site is the former Coca Cola
syrup plant and has been redeveloped under
a partnership between Streuver Bros. Eccles & Rouse
and Continental Realty. The project represents
a 20 million dollar investment for Phillips,
and is part of a ten year growth plan. Their
redevelopment efforts have paid off handsomely
for the surrounding communities, creating
over 300 job opportunities for area residents.
To identify their presence onto Baltimore
's skyline, a 100-ft tall sign structure
was designed and constructed around an existing
smokestack on the 270,000 sq. ft. facility.
In full motion every day, a large animated
red neon crab, dubbed "Big Phil", appears
to be climbing out of a Phillips crab meat
can, crawling up the factory's smokestack,
and then scurrying back down into the can
as the lid closes over the crabs head. GableSigns,
Inc., a Maryland based sign manufacturing
firm was contracted to manufacture and install
the sign, and worked tirelessly to insure
a timely completion for a New Years Eve
debut. The project was designed by David
Ashton and Associates, a Baltimore design
firm.
The sign towers over the headquarters building,
and is easily viewed by I-95 traffic and
the surrounding neighborhood. Community
response has been very positive towards
the sign, which area residents see as a
fitting tribute towards the states famously
feisty delicacy.

Park Illuminates Baltimore Skyline |
Baltimore, MD (June 2002) — With the
flip of a switch, an old friend has appeared
on Baltimore's skyline once again.
Yesterday evening, the developers of Montgomery
Park Business Center held a sign-lighting
ceremony to celebrate the transformation
of the former Montgomery Ward & Co.
Catalog warehouse into Baltimore's largest
office building. The event signifies that
construction is coming down the home stretch
as the project's first tenants, the Maryland
Department of the Environment, prepare to
move in this summer.
In 1925, the 1.3 million sq. ft. building
was constructed in the city to become the
company's East Coast distribution facility.
In 1985, the building became vacant and state
officials planned to demolish it for a maintenance
facility. A couple of years ago Samuel K.
Himmelrich, the lead developer, decided he
wanted to buy it and appealed to Maryland
government officials to intervene. "What's
amazing isn't what were doing. It's that Montgomery
Ward made a strategic decision to come to
Baltimore, build this building and employ
thousands. We're trying to put it back." said
Mr. Himmelrich.
The building was saved and now all of the
pieces for this historic redevelopment are
coming together - especially the newly-constructed
rooftop sign, which surely will become a calling
card to Baltimore once again. "People remember
the Montgomery Ward sign, mainly because of
its nighttime presence, and we're re-establishing
its presence here," said Mr. Himmelrich. The
new rooftop sign is a re-creation of its predecessor,
with a few minor changes. The new sign reads "Montgomery
Park " to better reflect the building's diverse
group of tenants, including the Maryland State
Lottery, which is to arrive this fall. The
letters on the sign are almost 13 feet high,
and span over a 220 feet-long steel structure
perched high on the rooftop. The sign is visible
to drivers coming and going through the city
on I-95, and is clearly more noticeable at
night, with it's brightly-illuminated red
neon glow acting as an attractant from miles
away.
GableSigns, Inc., a Maryland-based sign manufacturing
firm, was contracted to design, fabricate,
and install the new sign as historically accurate
as possible, excluding any substitutions that
could be made to insure the sign's durability.
One stroke of luck was the availability of
the original drawings from the first sign,
which had been removed and discarded before
the redevelopment efforts had begun. The drawings
were made available from Claude Neon Signs,
the Baltimore Company who had created the
original Montgomery Wards sign. Access to
these drawings insured the likeness of the
original sign, and helped answer many questions
regarding the type style used, fabrication
methods, the neon lighting patterns, etc.
"The City of Baltimore shines brighter today," says
Laurie Schwartz, Deputy Mayor of Baltimore. "The
illuminated Montgomery Park sign serves as
a highly visible sign of economic resurgence
for Baltimore City and the region."
