GableSigns Completes M&T Bank Conversion ProjectBaltimore, MD (May 2009) — In what may be one of the fastest sign-conversion projects in Maryland banking history, the final step in M&T Bank’s acquisition of 143 Provident Bank locations will take place this upcoming Friday, May 22 with the unveiling of all new signage and ATM surrounds. The rebranding project, which was awarded to GableSigns on March 1st, included the manufacturing of over 1,000 signs illuminated with over 20,000 LED Modules for locations in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.
Within recent weeks, GableSigns has had 15 installation crews working around the clock to remove and replace each and every Provident sign. To ensure a synchronized event, GableSigns has placed a temporary banner to cover M&T’s logo until the unveiling. On May 22, the project is set to be complete.
M&T Bank is currently the second largest bank in Maryland, following only Bank of America. Based in Buffalo, New York, M&T Bank used many Maryland-based businesses to assist with their massive conversion project, which consequently pumped millions of dollar’s into the local economy. “The reason we’ve been successful is the support of the community, and in tough times we want to be there for the community,” said M&T’s mid-Atlantic President, Woody Collins.
